We're back!

Hi everyone!

We're back! Sorry it took so long to post after the holidays! Mommy has been waiting anxiously for her Christmas present to arrive...a new camera! Mommy is so excited! Her old camera was frustrating her considerably because sometimes we would move before the camera could take the photo and most of the time, the camera wouldn't even take a photo at all! Or when it did, the photo would be blurry! Now that her new camera is here, mommy promises to post more often and will hopefully have cuter photos of us! Here are some of her first shots with the new camera!

A few weeks ago, Mommy and Daddy babysat their neice, Baby Emma.

Jack-Emma smelled kinda interesting and occasionally she made strange noises, but babies don't interest me all that much. I much prefer squeaky balls.

Abby-I love Baby Emma! I think she is the most fascinating creature ever! I made sure she was safe and stayed by her side all evening. I love how cute Emma is, how good she smells, and all the cute noises she makes! I even like it when she grabs onto my face and pulls! I only sorta minded when she tried to pull the hair on my tummy, but I was a good doggy and just moved away. Mommy took some cute photos (with her old camera) of me being a good Momma dog to Baby Emma. I hope someday, Mommy and Daddy have a baby of their own so I can be a nanny all the time!

The indignity of it all!

Jack-I can't believe it! Abby won't let me wear my collar! Daddy came home one day to find my collar strewn on the floor. He picked it up and put it back around my neck. What happened next suprised the heck out of him. Abby walked over to me, put her teeth around the buckle of my collar and rotated the collar so the buckle was now around the back of my neck. From there, Abby then put her teeth on both sides of the buckle and actually unclipped my collar! The collar fell back to the floor where it had been a minute earlier. Oh the indignity of it all! Being undressed by my sister! At least mommy and daddy won't wonder any more why my collar keeps coming off. We'll have to work on teaching Abby to leave me and my collar alone.

Agility

Abby-Wow! Mommy and I just came from our agility class and it was so much fun! I got to do some coursework for the first time and it was awesome! I had to wait at the starting line for Mommy to give me the OK, then I went through the first hoop, through the tunnel, then through the next hoop where I got my treat! Then I walked back to the starting line and had to sit and wait for Mommy to put my collar back on! I had so much fun! I didn't even run around like a crazy dog like some of the other doggy's did! Mommy was so proud of me! I have been having such an awesome time learning the weave poles and doing jumps and the A-frame. I love agility! I can't wait for next week!

Agility class!

Abby - Last night I went to my agility class! I had so much fun! I got to go around these big orange cones in what Mommy called "Figure Eights" and I got to go over some jumps! Mommy was so pleased with me! I loved every minute of it! I can't wait to practice the jumps and cone excercise with my Mommy at home! Yesterday, Mommy and Daddy were talking about building my very own set of jumps and I can't wait to play with them in the backyard. This agility thing is going to be fun I can tell. Mommy seems so pleased with me. Apparently I am doing very well and learning things quickly. I am so excited for next weeks lesson! Woo hoo! I love agility!

The day I almost ate Daddy.... by Jack

Jack - It was a dark and quiet morning. I had heard Daddy leaving for the gym. He had left through the garage which I thought was strange but I decided that this was not a matter to worry about. I returned to my peaceful slumber. Soon after, my Mommy came to wake us up. This happens every morning, and I didn't anticipate anything unusual to happen. Unfortunately, I was greatly mistaken. I was walking into the living room with Abby and Mommy when suddenly a huge intruder burst into the kitchen! A large parcel in his arms jarred against our kitchen table just as I sprang into action. My sister and Mommy were in danger. I went into instant Gaurd Dog Mode. My muscles tensed up. My head dropped low to the ground. I let out a series of my loudest, most ferocious barks. I must protect my family. I must protect my home. Behind me, somewhere in the back of my mind I registered my Mommy laughing. Strange, but I still had a job to do. There was an intruder in the house and it was my job to drive him away. I charged forward, knowing that my black brindled coloration, my large jaw, and my muscular, 100lb Mastiff body should be enough to intimidate even the bravest of burglers. Suddenly, without warning, the lights sprang to life. There, standing in front of me holding a bulging duffle bag was....Daddy! What was Daddy doing home? Daddy Daddy! So that was why Mommy was laughing! It all makes sense now...I sure am glad Mommy turned the lights on when she did, or Daddy would have been toast!

Yummy Human Food!

Abby – Yesterday, my Mommy did something unusual. She actually gave me human food! Normally Mommy doesn’t allow me to have human food except for the bits that fall on the floor when Mommy or Daddy are cooking. Then they call in the canine vacuum cleaners (me and Jack) and we get to have a yummy nibble. On rare occasions Mommy will give me an uncooked spaghetti noodle. I’m not sure why, but she always laughs at me while I’m eating it. But anyways, like I said, Mommy gave me human food yesterday. Daddy had cooked hamburgers and Mommy couldn’t finish all of hers. So she gave me a really big hunk of hers. Jack got a teeny nibble of meat and a few bites of my portion. I’m not sure why but later my tummy felt yucky and I threw up in front of Mommy just before she put me to bed. I felt much better afterwards but Mommy didn’t seem too thrilled for some reason. She told me she was sorry and then said something terrible! “No more human food for you!”. I can’t believe it?! What did I do wrong?? No more human food! It can’t be! I live for human food! Human food is so much better than kibble! Help me somebody! Convince Mommy that human food is good for me, please!

Jack – I remember a time when Daddy gave me some pizza crust. It had cheese all through the center of it, and was so good I nearly cried. I also remember my tummy hurting and throwing up too. Maybe that’s why I only got a teeny bit of meat and the few bites I stole out of Abby’s bowl before Mommy yelled at me. Guess human food is too rich for our tummies. It tastes so good though…life is so unfair.
